LYSETTE ANTHONY
Lysette Anthony has established herself as a talented and versatile actress and writer. Born in Fulham, South London, she made her first stage appearance at the Cambridge Theatre at the age of ten. By the time she was 14 she had been accepted into the prestigious National Youth Theatre. Heralded as the face of the Eighties by David Bailey at the age of 16, Lysette was a highly successful model before she became a household name as an actress at the age of 20.Perhaps best recognised in comedy, Lysette has worked with legends including, Morecambe & Wise, Peter Cook, Dudley Moore, Sid Caesar, Blake Edwards, Mel Brooks and Woody Allen. In the 80's she starred for 3 years in the still repeated BBC sitcom Three Up, Two Down.Lysette's extensive work in over 30 feature films includes, Without A Clue with Michael Caine & Ben Kingsley, Woody Allen's award winning Husbands & Wives in which she played Sydney Pollack's neurotic mistress and received critical acclaim for her performance. Further film credits include: The multi award winning Farewell to Harry, Beneath Loch Ness with Patrick Bergin, the Miramax/Dimension feature Tales of The Mummy with Christopher Lee, Mel Brook's Dracula: Dead And Loving It, Dr Jekyll and Ms Hyde with Sean Young; Tri-Star's Look Who's Talking Now with John Travolta, Miramax's The Hour Of The Pig starring alongside Colin Firth and The Lady & The Highwayman with Hugh Grant.Well-known also to television audiences, Lysette numerous credits include ITV's Murder in Suburbia, the award winning soap Night & Day (ITV), Hotel for Channel 5, BBC's Jonathan Creek, Oliver Twist, Dombey and Son, Campion, Lovejoy and ITV's Auf Wiedersehn Pet.Recently Lysette threatened the peace at Sun Hill Police Station when she made a dramatic and controversial return to The Bill, resuming her role as Rachel Heath.Lysette was then seen playing the role of Veronica Cray in The Hollow, a two-hour Poirot film. This was followed by the Radio 4 drama Now Voyager., with Joan Plowright, Anthony Head and Sarah Lancaster. Lysette has just finished shooting Manilla Envelopes with DeniseVan Outen and Dexter Fletcher.Lysette's most notable theatre credits are the role of Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis in the Broadway transfer of Jackie at the Queens Theatre, 23:59 at The Crucible, Sheffield and Toys in the Attic with Hayley Mills and Gwen Watford.Lysette is also an accomplished writer and has written articles for The Sunday Times, Style Magazine, Harpers & Queen, Ritz Magazine, Tatler, The Mail on Sunday & The Independent, as well as a regular column "At Lunch With" for Vivid magazine.Lysette gave birth to her first son, Jimi Boswell on 21st May 2004.
